Co-Defendants in Parsons Burglary, Strangulation Case Take Deals

The two DiBartolomeo brothers, Levi McCauley and Crystal Hensley have all taken plea deals in the April 2025 Burglary and Strangulation involving a residence on Overlook Drive Parsons.

On May 4th, Trenton DiBartolomeo, 35, who initially faced the most serious and numerous charges, plead guilty in Judge Steven Shaffer’s Court to: two counts of Strangulation, a felony punishable by no more than $2500, one to five years in prison or both; one count of Conspiracy, a felony punishable by two to ten years in prison; one count of Burglary, a felony punishable by one to 15 years in prison and one misdemeanor count of DUI. All other charges in his case were dismissed under the agreement.

On December 10, 2025, Levi McCauley, 34, appeared before Judge Shaffer to accept a plea deal in he plead guilty to one count of Burglary, a felony punishable by one to 15 years in prison.

Following the plea, McCauley’s attorney made a motion to modify the terms and conditions of bond. McCauley, like the other co-defendants had been held without bond pending trial due to capital kidnapping charges in the case. The Court granted the motion and set bail at $5,000 cash and/or surety bond permitting 10% of said bond to the Court with the remainder to be a recognizance bond.

McCauley was released to the supervision of the Tucker County Probation Office until further ordered by the Court. He was placed on home confinement under the supervision of Tucker County Community Corrections and ordered to be monitored by GPS until further notice. He was also ordered to pay a $50 initial hook up fee for the GPS monitoring bracelet and $5 per day while on home confinement.

On April 14th, Crystal Hensley, 46, appeared before Judge Shaffer to accept a plea deal in which she plead guilty to one count of Burglary, a felony punishable by one to 15 years in prison; one count of Conspiracy, a felony punishable by two to ten years in a correctional facility and on count of Battery, a misdemeanor punishable by no more than a $500 fine, up to six months in jail or both.

Hensley’s attorney, James Hawkins, made a motion to reconsider bond. Hensley had been held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail without bond pending trial since she was first arraigned on capital Kidnapping charges on October 22, 2025. The Court granted the motion and ordered a $25,000 cash and/or surety bond for Hensley.

Hensley was placed under the supervision of the Tucker County Probation Office until further ordered by the court. She was ordered to home confinement and GPS monitoring. Hensley was further ordered to pay an initial $50 for a GPS hook up fee for the monitor and then five dollar a day while on home confinement.

On January 7th, Cory DiBartolomeo accepted a plea deal and plead guilty before Judge Shaffer to one count of Conspiracy, a felony punishable by two to ten years in prison. The remainder of the charges were dismissed.

The Court placed Cory DiBartolomeo under Deferred Adjudication on the charge and released him on probation supervision for a period of three years. He was ordered to report immediately to the Tucker County Probation Office and to comply with all conditions and terms of his release set forth by the Probation Office and Probation Office.

It was further ordered by Judge Shaffer in all the cases, that the four co-defendants have no contact with each other either directly or indirectly. All four defendants were also to be jointly and individually responsible for restitution to the victim in the amount of $7,700.

The three remaining defendants are scheduled to be sentenced June 18th by Judge Shaffer.
