Sammie Lee Regester, 46, a resident of Hambleton, passed from this life Wednesday, June 6, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the care of WV Caring.

Sammie was born in Elkins on Friday, September 11, 1979, a son of Loretta W. Falls Pennington of Hambleton and the late Harry Burdette “Sut” Pennington.

Also left to cherish Sammie’s memory are his siblings, Cindy Vance Sigley of Hambleton, Tracy

Daman and husband Rob and Chris Regester and wife, Crista, all of Belington, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Sammie in death besides his father was a brother, Harry “Bo” Pennington, III.

Sammie was a graduate of Tucker County High School. Sammie enjoyed being around people and watching them, going on car rides, walking, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed eating popcorn, ice cream, and his favorite, milkshakes. Although disabled, Sammie endured the many hardships of his life with a smile. He loved his family and showed his affection for them with hugs and smiles.

Visitation was held at the Hostetler Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 11 am to 2 pm, the funeral hour. Rev. Kevin Hostetler officiated, and interment followed at Parsons City Cemetery in Parsons. The Hostetler Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Sammie Lee Regester.
