The Mountaineer Garden Club is pleased to recognize three outstanding properties as the June 2026 Yard of the Month selections. These recipients have demonstrated exceptional care, creativity, and pride in enhancing the beauty of our community through their landscaping and gardening efforts.

Residential Yard of the Month

Jane and Bud Parsons

Jane and Bud have created a stunning landscape that captures attention from the street and beyond. Their mailbox garden features beautiful purple and lavender flowering perennials, creating a vibrant focal point that welcomes visitors. Ornamental grasses add texture and movement throughout the landscape, while colorful flower beds extend around the property and patio areas.

In addition to the ornamental plantings, the Parsons maintain a well-kept vegetable garden that showcases both beauty and functionality. Their dedication to gardening and property maintenance has resulted in a landscape that is both attractive and inviting.

Residential Yard of the Month

Jeanette Bishoff

Jeanette’s property features a welcoming display of lush hanging ferns adorning the front porch. The walkway is lined with bright yellow and orange begonias that provide a cheerful burst of color, while established rose bushes add elegance and charm to the landscape. The carefully maintained flower beds and inviting front porch create a warm and picturesque setting that exemplifies community pride.

Business Yard of the Month

Mountain Valley Bank

Mountain Valley Bank has been selected as the June Business Yard of the Month for its beautifully maintained landscape. Vibrant begonias provide seasonal color around the bank’s entrance and signage, complemented by neatly maintained shrubs that create a polished and professional appearance. The attractive landscaping enhances the property while contributing to the overall beauty of the community.

The Mountaineer Garden Club congratulates all of this month’s recipients and thanks them for their efforts in making our town a more beautiful place to live, work, and visit. Their commitment to maintaining attractive landscapes inspires others and helps showcase the pride that residents and businesses take in our community.

The Mountaineer Garden Club recognizes Yard of the Month recipients throughout the growing season to encourage beautification efforts and celebrate outstanding landscaping achievements throughout the area.
