Canning season

Canning season is almost here and WVU Extension offers a free dial gauge testing for your pressure canner. This free test ensures safe home food preservation and is recommended by the USDA to be done annually. Over time and use, gauges can lose accuracy resulting in over or under processed foods. All you will need to bring when you visit is your canner lid with the dial gauge. Weighted canners are mechanically accurate and do not need tested annually.
