To The Citizens of Parsons,
I want to take a moment to express how much I have enjoyed working for the City of Parsons. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve the City of Parsons for the past 10 years as councilman, recorder, and mayor.
I would like to clarify misinformation that was reported. I remain Mayor until June 30. My absences from meetings was due to a previously planned family vacation, which is an annual event for my family.
At no time were my duties neglected. All required signatures for Region VII projects for Parsons were completed, and those projects continued to move forward as needed.
I take my responsibilities seriously and remain committed to serving the community through the end of my term.
I have loved serving this community and working for dedicated citizens, employees, and leaders who care deeply about the future of our city. Our employees are the best! Parsons will always be special to me, and I am thankful for the support you have shown me throughout the years. How exciting it was to represent the City of Parsons as Mayor for the opening of Corridor H on Monday. Though I will no longer be mayor, my support for the City of Parsons and its people will continue.
I have always looked out for the interests of our citizens. Fiscal responsibility has been critical to me, and I want to ensure that money is not wasted or spent on projects that are not good for the citizens. We must continue to remember the age of our population and make sure that we are providing services not only for our youth, but for our senior citizens also. Our greatest resources are our people.
Parsons will always be the small city with a big heart to me as it is to you.
Best wishes to our new mayor.
Sincerely,
Mayor Bruce Kolsun
