The TCHS boys basketball team finished up their regular summer league schedule at Keyser High School last week. Tucker faced two opponents, the first being regional rival Pendleton County. The Mt. Lions absolutely ran the Wildcats out of the gym in this one, outscoring them 70-19 and finishing the game with a running clock.
The Mt. Lions were even shorthanded this week, as senior Ethan Cummings was sidelined with an illness. Tucker then faced AAAA Hampshire County. TCHS was battled in this one but pulled away from the Trojans, 56-45, to secure a double-digit victory.
Tucker now sits as the No. 1 seed heading into the league tournament. The date and time for their opponent are still TBA. The Mt. Lions do have another opponent to battle next week, and that is simply availability. With several players having vacations scheduled, Tucker isn’t quite sure who will be suiting up next week.
