Tucker County has announced it will Go Purple in September in recognition of National Recovery Month as part of the West Virginia Goes Purple movement. The Tucker County Commission signed a proclamation July 22nd, announcing September 2026 as “Tucker County Goes Purple” in recognition of National Recovery Month. It is encouraged that Tucker County join by wearing purple, turning on purple porch lights, display purple ribbons and signs, support recovery and prevention efforts, share messages of hope and encouragement and stand beside individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder. West Virginia is the first state in U.S. history to unite all 55 counties during National Recovery Month.
