Elkins, W.Va. — Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center’s employees continue to strive for excellence in their quest to provide the very best care.
Autumn Elza, Director of Nursing, recently earned a prestigious certification associated with her position. She is now a “certified” Director of Nursing.
“This is an incredible achievement,” said Tara Shaver, ERCC Administrator. “It takes, hard work and determination to obtain this certification.”
Elza is also very pleased with her recent accomplishment.
“I knew this was going to take a lot of hard work,” she said. “But I was determined to make this a reality.”
“We are so proud of Autumn,” Shaver added. “Obtaining this certification is an extensive process and takes much effort.”
Nursing Directors oversee and manage staff, stay up to date and implement new nursing practices, and are a bridge between nurses and those in leadership roles.
“The amount of work she put into getting this certification truly lets her work ethic shine,” Shaver added. “We are so blessed to have her on our team.”
This is not a career position that you can jump into immediately. It can even take 10 to 15 years, sometimes even longer, to become accomplished.
“We admire her desire to further her education in this position,” Shaver said.
“Earning this DNS-CT certificate has been a goal,” Elza said. “I am greatly pleased with this accomplishment.”
Elza has worked at ERCC for a total of 13 years, with seven years as the Director of Nursing. She has also worked as a registered nurse and a Clinical Supervisor. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
“ERCC is a great place to work,” Elza said. “I have held different leadership roles at ERCC and enjoy being a part of the team.”
