Tucker’s cross-country team traveled east last week to Hampshire County High School for the Potomac Valley Conference (PVC) Championship. The boys’ team placed three runners in the top 25, with Draven Bunnell leading the way with a 21st-place finish and a time of 20:52.19. Landon Wilfong and William Gilligan crossed the finish line back-to-back, placing 24th and 25th with times of 21:31.84 and 21:33.65, respectively. Rounding out the boys’ team, Riley Coffman finished in 50th place, while Evan Spencer placed 53rd.

The results earned the Mt. Lions fifth place overall out of six teams. Frankfort took first, followed by Hampshire County in second, Keyser in third, Berkeley Springs in fourth, Tucker in fifth, and East Hardy in sixth.

Juniper Judy continues to be TCHS’s only female runner. She earned an 18th-place finish with a time of 29:13.48.

With the PVC Championship behind them, the team will turn its attention to the regional championship on Saturday, October 24.
