Crowds and vendors gathered along downtown Davis to celebrate all things Magical during the Sticks & Stones Festival October 16th.

The 4th Annual 2026 Sticks & Stones Festival in Davis was all about Appalachian Granny Witch Magic. The Top of the Mountain this year was alive with the spirit of the elders with people coming from places near and far to participate in this year’s event Oct. 16 and 17.

The festival kicked off on Friday with a welcome party at the Billy Motel’s Ish Kitchen.

Saturday saw the main event with magical mischief throughout Downtown from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At 5 p.m. in the lawn beside East West, there was a performance of “The Witches’ Dance.” Witches shook their besoms to the joy of the crowd before a Spirited afterparty began at Stumptown Ales at 7 p.m. and ran well into the witching hour.

Shops all along Downtown had their doors open to welcome visitors, with specialty shops such as Sister Witches and Emerald Boutique, that sponsored the festival as specific draws. Sister Witches even put together special items in preparation for the upcoming Samhain (Celtic Halloween) holiday in time for the festival.

The public ventured along downtown Davis enjoying games and goods.
