The Queen Daphne Pageant will be held on Sat., Aug.15, the Saturday before the fair begins, at Camp Kidd Park at the outdoor stage.
Young women between the ages of 16-21, 13-15 and 10-12 year olds are eligible to run for Queen Daphne, Teen Fair Queen and Junior Fair Queen Competition for Queen Daphne is a personal interview, streetwear, a 30 second promo, gown and on stage questions. The winner will also be able to go to the WV Fairs & Festivals Pageant in Charleston in Jan., 2016. Entry fee and lodging is provided by the Tucker County Fair Association. The winner will also receive a $500 scholarship, sash, crown and flowers
The Teen Queen Division and Junior Divisions will do the same competitions as Queen Daphne. The teen division winner will receive a $100 scholarship, sash, crown and flowers and the Junior division will receive $75 scholarship, sash, crown and flowers. The winners will be at the fair and help participate in activities during the week. There will be an entry fee.
Adding excitement will be the Children’s Pageant on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at at 6 p.m.
The Divisions are as follows:
- Miss Baby Tuckerette – 0-1 years old,
- Miss Wee Tuckerette, – 2-3 years old
- Miss Tiny Tuckerette – 4-5years old
- Miss Small Tuckerette – 6-7 years old
- Miss Little Tuckerette – 8-9 years old
Competition is wearing a party or pageant dress and model it on stage for those who are old enough. A parent or designated person may accompany their child and help them. Crowns, sashes, and flowers will be awared to the winners. Prizes will be awarded to all contestants that are entered. There will be a small entry fee.
