Mother’s Day Programs
You are invited to join us at the Tucker County Senior Centers as we host programs to honor all mothers at this special time of the year.
The Parsons Center program is scheduled for Thursday, May 7. The Goldenaires Choir will begin the special day at 10:30 a.m. with their weekly singing program. Later in the program, and prior to lunch, we will pay tribute to all mothers with special songs, readings, and inspiring memories.
The Mt. Top Center will host their event on Tuesday, May 12 in conjunction with the May Birthday Celebration. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. followed by lunch.
2015 Senior Olympics
Due to a scheduling conflict the 2015 Senior Olympics is being held at the same time as a pre planned senior center trip. As a result, some of the regular Olympic participants and senior center staff will not be able to attend the event. We do, however, have another excellent team of participants attending and once again Tucker County will be well represented.
We are processing applications and making lodging preparations, etc. If you need help with planning these arrangements we ask that you please observe a May 15 deadline, as we will be quite busy the later part of the month with special events, programs and trip planning. After the 15th you will be responsible for making your own reservations, etc.
If you have never attended the Olympics and think you may be interested, please contact Sam at the senior center and pick up a packet containing complete information, applications and all that is needed for the event. There is something for everyone at the Olympics including baking, crafts talent, athletic events, fellowship and much more. We are sure that you will find the experience very interesting and fun.
Sleep Disorder Presentation
We still have not received much response for hosting a Sleep Disorder Program including Sleep Apnea, snoring, etc. If we receive enough response and a decision is made to host the program, it will be scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the Parsons Center. Please let us know if you are interested.
