This is a photo from one of the followers of the Tidbits of our History. This shows The Pine Ridge Dance Land. It was operated by Cecil Goff; he and his wife Jean and their two children lived upstairs. There was a restaurant on the right hand side of the building and the other part was the dance hall. The place was most commonly called “The Platform”. It was located in Canaan Valley on the same side as the DNR Maintenance Building. Cecil “Cec” got a band from Parsons; the band played polkas and square dance music. People came from all around on the weekends to dance and socialize.
