Terrance Lee “Terry” Roy, age 64 years, a resident of the Chenoweth Creek Road Community, Elkins, WV departed this life Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at his home. Death was unexpected.
He was born Friday, March 9, 1951 at Lanesville, WV a son of the late James Anderson and Maxine Freda Lawrence Roy. Surviving are one son, Cameron Roy and wife Lorie of MO; one daughter, Crystal Thomas of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Harold Duane Roy and wife Sheila of FL; three sisters, Patty Jane Plum and husband John, Joyce Ann Minear and husband James, all of Elkins, Dorothea Kay Waters and husband Gary of Florida; four grandchildren, Trendon, Ella Grace, Cooper, and Lawson.
Preceding him in death is one brother, Woodrow James Roy.
He attended the schools of Tucker County, and was a graduate of James Wood High School at Winchester, VA. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U. S. Army. He worked at Capitol Records of Winchester, VA for many years, and was a Tractor Trailer Driver in Nebraska, from which he retired. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God at Hambleton and enjoyed country music and Television.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday. A funeral service was held Friday, June 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. Pastor Randall Lawrence officiated and interment followed at the Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons, West Virginia, where the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard, the H. W. Daniels Post # 29, American Legion, the Tygarts Valley Post # 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Tucker County Veterans Association conducted full military honors.
