PARSONS – Folks who have trouble getting to Davis Medical Center’s Health Center Pharmacy may have a new alternative to getting their prescriptions come Nov. 1. DMC Marketing Specialist Chad Ware said the group is exploring the possibility of offering free delivery of prescriptions in Tucker County.

“The program is not up and running yet, because we are short-staffed,” Ware said. “But we are gathering information to see if there is enough need and interest in setting up the delivery process.”

Ware said the details are not definite at this moment, but said he urges those interested in the program to call DMC.

“Amanda Smith is the Pharmacy Director, and folks interested in this program should call and let us know if they would use the program, and let us know where they live so we can set up a delivery process,” Ware said.

The phone number to call and express interest in the program is 304-637-3378 or 304-478-2319.

Ware said the hope is that prescriptions would be delivered to Tucker County residents twice a week, but adds if the program grows they are not opposed to adding more delivery days through the week.

“We thought this program would help patients in the area and make it more convenient for folks, especially senior citizens, to receive their prescriptions,” Ware said. “The county has so many issues with the weather, and we are looking into the possibility of making it easier for folks to get their prescriptions.”

Ware said as of now, there are no age restrictions on the potential program. He said the target date to begin this program is Nov. 1.
