In the early morning hours of Jan. 6 the home of Shirley Plum was completely destroyed by fire. Parsons Volunteer Fire Department responded with four trucks and eight men, Thomas had three trucks and six men, Davis had two trucks and six men, and Canaan responded with three trucks and seven men. PVFD Chief Kevin white said, “The structure was a total loss. Our efforts in this fire was not enough to save the owners home but I’m very impressed with the way all of our county departments joined together as one in this time of need.”
According to social media there will be a benefit for Shirley Plum from 1 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department. There will be a silent auction and bake sale. Donations are needed for the auction and baked goods. Contact Angie Mitchell for info.
