Senior Center Christmas Celebration

The Parsons Senior Center hosted a Christmas celebration on December 14, 2023. Linda J. Bonner welcomed everyone and led the Lord’s prayer and the pledge of allegiance. Jean Morrison played the piano for the group singing of God Bless America. Sharon Daniels led a lively discussion of old community traditions including sled riding on Quality Hill and skating on the pond. Linda J. Bonner and Eleanor Nestor did Christmas readings.

Linda J. Bonner introduced Dennis Filler, president of the Tucker County Ambulance Authority. Mr. Filler entertained the group with Christmas songs. He is playing for area organizations to raise donations for the Tucker County Emergency Squads. Santa Clause appeared and posed for pictures with delighted attendees. Linda D. Bonner, receptionist, held drawings for door prizes. 

Tim Turner, Tucker County Senior Center Director, spoke of future plans for the center and wants to see attendance grow.  Meals are served daily at 11:30 am, the choir meets on Thursdays, and special programs are held throughout the month. Bonner, Arlene Ramsey, Virginia Popio, Lilly Nestor, Jean Myers, Buddy Arnold, Deloris Kelley, David Sharp, Mary Morral, Anna Fitzwater, Mabel Fitzwater, Sue Carroll, Pat Woods, April Fitzwater, Joyce Matheny, and David A. Poling.
