The votes are in. The Amish Land Cruise squeaked by the other trips into first place. The second highest vote getter was the Savannah and Charleston trip. As of now we will plan the Amish trip in September and the Savannah trip in early December for our Christmas trip.
- Amish theater Land Cruise in Ohio. 3days/2nights all-inclusive vacation. Two dinners, two breakfasts, one lunch, 2 nights at Berlin Encore Hotel, the Amish Country theater shows, game shows, contests, trivia, bingo swimming, etc., most of the things, included on a regular cruise except you are on land, not water. There are even “shore excursions” for an additional cost. The cost of this trip will be $550 and the dates are Sept. 26 – 29, 2023.
- Savannah and Charleston. 5days/4nights includes hotel, breakfasts, one dinner cruise with entertainment, one dinner at the Charleston Crab House, guided tour of Historic Charleston, visit the historic market, guided tour of Savannah, performance at the Historic Savannah Theater, guided tram tour of Jekyll Island, tour of St. Simon Island and a visit to Famous River St. We are considering this for our Christmas trip for next year. The cost will be $760.
These are short summaries of the possible trips. All trips include motor coach transportation, baggage handling and gratuities.
We have already reserved tickets for Sight & Sound Theatre for next July (around the 19th or 20th) to see “Moses.” We do not have an itinerary or the pricing yet. We will let you know as soon as we decide. We are working on some shorter trips but they don’t take as long to plan as the longer ones do.
The SHIP lady has expanded her schedule. In addition to the 1st and 3rd Thursdays she will be in Parsons on Nov. 7, 14 and Dec. 5. Just a reminder that you must call 304-636-4747 to arrange an appointment.
We are seeking donations for our Senior Center food pantry. We are accepting any non-perishable foods. We also have some limited freezer space for meats such as chicken, beef, deer meat, turkey, etc.
Reminder: Mt. Top Outpost will be on Nov. 9, we changed it to the 2nd Wednesday so it doesn’t interfere with other activities. Please bring your favorite covered dish and enjoy the fun, food and fellowship.
