This has been one of the worst winters we have had in a long time. With the cold temperatures, snow, and ice we as seniors must take special precautions. Please stay inside as much as possible. If you must go out, please let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return. Please remember that the Senior Center is still providing transportation to appointments. Just call as far in advance as possible so we can make sure we have a driver available. A big part of surviving this type of weather is having someone check on you. No matter what the age, we need to all check on our neighbors especially if we know they do not have someone calling them daily. It only takes a few minutes to pick up the phone and call someone.
SNOWBALL
I made myself a snowball,
As perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet,
And let it sleep with me.
I made it some pajamas,
And a pillow for its head.
Then last night, it ran away,
But first, it wet the bed!
MITTENS
Stripes or dots or sparkling white,
Mittens in winter fit just right,
Wool and cotton, maybe leather,
Mittens warm us in cold weather.
In rainbow colors and darkest black,
Mittens fit in a pocket or in your pack.
Thumbs alone, fingers together,
We love mittens in cold, cold, weather!
