Many of you have heard rumors about the Tucker County Senior Center. We are currently undergoing a reorganization. We’d like to remind the community of some of the services we offer.
The Medicare Waiver program allows eligible individuals to receive care in their homes verses nursing home placement.
Our Lighthouse service is for people who are not Medicaid eligible age 60 and over. These services are for those who require personal care such as grooming, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation assistance, nutrition, and light housekeeping. This is an income-based program.
The Personal Care program services clients 18 and over that are Medicaid eligible. These clients must be referred by a physician and need personal care. They may also be provided light housekeeping, and essential errands. Their plan of care is developed by our RN based on the doctor’s order.
Our FAIR (Family Alzheimer’s In-Home Respite) provides respite for care givers of persons with a dementia diagnosis. The program can provide up to 15 hours of respite care per week. This is also income-based.
The Veterans In-Home Care (VA) is provided to those whom the doctor has determined are eligible. An RN does assessment and sets up a Personal Care Program.
We also offer Private Pay for those who do not qualify for any other programs.
Housekeeping can be provided for 2 hours per week to those over 60.
Home-delivered meals are available for those eligible under the Older Americans Act Program guidelines. There is currently a Wait List.
We also have Ensure and Ensure Plus available for sale at reduced prices.
Please note: we DO NOT provide 24-hour In-Home Care coverage nor are we the primary caregivers. The family must provide back-up care when we can’t be there.
We also provide meals at the Center for a suggested donation.
Other services that we provide are transportation to and from the Senior Center or for local needs such as stops at the Post Office or for shopping in Parsons.
We still provide transportation for medical appointments. We ask for as much advance notice as possible for scheduling purposes.
We are here to serve our community. If we can be of assistance, please feel free to call us at 304-478-2423 or stop by the Center to visit with us. We’d love to see you.
