TRAVEL NEWS

We have collected the final payment for the Pirates baseball trip. We do have several seats still available but we need to know immediately if you are interested because we have to turn in our unsold seats. The price is $125 per person which includes your ticket to the game, the motor coach and a ride on the Gateway Clipper Shuttle to PNC Park.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call 304-478-2423. If you have not received your itinerary yet, please stop by the Senior Center and pick one up.  Your breakfast orders are due by July 12th.

We will be collecting for the September 10, 2017 to September 15, 2017 trip to Myrtle Beach on Thursday, July 6th.  The cost of this trip will be $ 700.00 per person based on double occupancy. There ARE still some spaces available so if you are interested, please give us a call.  If you have any questions, feel free to call the Parsons Center at 304-478-2423. Because we have seats available and we have offered this trip to our seniors first, we can now take names of any adults that are not seniors but would still like to go.

We realize that it is early but plans have been made for a return Christmas trip to the Galt House in Louisville, KY. We will be going November 27 – 30. We have included the luncheon cruise on the Spirit of Jefferson, Churchill Downs, the Mega Caverns and several other attractions. The price will be $700. We will begin collecting Thursday, July 6th. The payments will be $ 140 per person. If you are interested, please call and get your name and phone number on the list. The list is starting to fill up so call quickly.  As always, we will call the people in the order of the list.

We are planning a short one day trip to Elkins on Friday evening July 14, 2017. We have reserved tickets to the Franks “The Greatest Show on Rails” show. The price will be approximately $30 per person depending on the size of the group. If you are interested in going, please call the Parsons Center at 304-478-2423 as soon as possible and leave your name and phone number so we can make sure we have a van driver. We will call you with more details after we find out the size of the group.

PARSONS FATHER’S DAY

The Parsons Senior Center will be holding their Father’s Day Celebration on Thursday, June 15th at 10:30 a.m. We will be entertained by the Goldenaires Choir and will recognize all fathers in attendance so please join us for this celebration. We will also be recognizing those who are celebrating a birthday in June with a song and a delicious cake from WV Caring.

TOP OUTPOST

The Mt. Top Center will be holding their monthly outpost on Tuesday, June 20th at 10:45 a.m. This is also West Virginia Day so we will have a celebration of that also.  Please bring your favorite covered dish and join in the fun.

SUMMER BEGINS

Summer officially begins on Wednesday, June 21st. Please enjoy the sunshine, better weather, and fun outdoor activities. Please be safe and use sunscreen and any recommended equipment like life jackets when you are around the water.

FARMER’S MARKET COUPONS

It’s that time of year again. Both the Parsons Senior Center and the Mt. Top Center will be handing out the farmer’s market coupons from 9:00 a.m. until noon on Thursday, July 6, 2017. You must be at least 60years old and this is income based. Please contact the Parsons Center at 304-478-2423 if you have any questions.
