TRAVEL NEWS
The committee has voted on our Christmas trip for this year. We will be going to Amish country in Ohio (Sugarcreek and Walnut Creek) November 19 – 21, 2019. The trip will include 2 shows, 2 dinners, Lehman’s Hardware, Walnut Creek Cheese, Schrock’s Heritage Village, and possibly other sights, lodging, transportation, and gratuities. On the way home we will stop in Wheeling at Cabela’s and view the lights before returning to Tucker County. The cost of the trip is $375 per person based on double occupancy. Please remember that the seats will be reserved based on the receipt of your $75 deposit which will be subtracted from the final price. The collection dates (after the deposit is made) will be August 22nd and September 26th. Each of these payments will be $150.00 per person for double occupancy. There are still several seats available so please call soon.
We can still take deposits for our cruise to the Southern Caribbean February 6 – 18, 2021. The deposit is $100 and needs to be paid as soon as possible to hold the cabin. We only have so long before the tour company has to turn the cabins back over to the cruise line and then if you can get a cabin, the price may go up. We’ve had several questions. We want to let you know that this will be a bus trip to Baltimore, MD to get on the ship. There is NO air flight involved. The prices are $1600, $1650, or $2000 depending on the type of cabin you want. If you need further details, please call Linda Bonner at 304-478-2423.
DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS TOWN HALL MEETING
A gentleman from the Department of Veteran Affairs will be at the Parsons Center at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 16th for a Town Hall meeting. This will be an opportunity for veterans and/or their families to discuss their concerns with this representative.
PARSONS BIRTHDAYS
We will be celebrating those people having August birthdays on Thursday, August 15th at the Parsons Center. Please join us at 10:30 for great singing by our Goldenaires choir and stay for lunch with a delicious cake provided by WV Caring for dessert.
ST. GEORGE OUTPOST
We will be having out monthly Outpost at St. George on Thursday, August 15th at 6:00 p.m. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join us for good food, fellowship, and fun.
MT. TOP OUTPOST
The monthly Outpost at Mt. Top Center will be held on Tuesday, August 20th beginning at 10:45 a.m. There will be a presentation by Preston Home Medical at 11:00 a.m. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join us for good food and fellowship.
NO SHIP LADY IN PARSONS
The SHIP ladies have training on Thursday, August 22, 2019 so there won’t be anyone for SHIP available to discuss your concerns that day. If you need to speak to them, please call 304-636-4747 to arrange an appointment
