VALENTINE CELEBRATION
The Parsons Center will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 16, 2017 due to the snow storm that was expected last week. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. with music by the Goldenaires Choir. The day will conclude with the crowning of the Queen and King of Valentines who were voted on by the participants at the Center.
Along with the Valentine’s Celebration, the Parsons Center will be honoring those seniors who have birthdays in February. WV Caring will be providing the birthday cake for dessert.
PAPER PRODUCTS BINGO
The Mt. Top Center will be having their paper products bingo on Thursday, February 16, 2017 and the Parsons Center will be having theirs on Friday, February 17, 2017 after lunch.
HOLIDAY CLOSING
Both the Parsons and Mt. Top Centers will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2017 for President’s Day. They will reopen on Tuesday at their regular scheduled times.
MT. TOP OUTPOST
The Mt. Top Center will be holding its monthly outpost on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join in the fun and fellowship.
LOVE YOUR HEART
The Tucker Co. Health Department, Davis Medical Center, and the WVU Tucker Co. Extension Office are sponsoring a “LOVE YOUR HEART” program at the Parsons Senior Center on Thursday, February 23, 2017. They will be doing free blood pressure, glucose and weight screenings beginning at 5:30 p.m. This will be followed with a program on keeping your heart healthy. There will be a question and answer session following the program. Heart healthy snacks and door prizes will be available. You are asked to call (304) 478-3572 or (304) 478-2949 ext. 209 to register before February 17, 2017 so they know how many snacks to prepare. Please call one of the above numbers not the Senior Center to make your reservation.
TRAVEL NEWS
We are still taking names for the April 24th trip to Washington, PA to the Casino and Tanger Outlets. The cost is $55 per person. This payment will be collected on Thursday, March 9, 2017.
There are seats still available for the Pirates Baseball game on July 20, 2017. We have obtained excellent seats behind home plate. We realize this is several months away but if we don’t have more people to sign up, we will have to cancel the trip. If interested, please call the Parsons Center and get your name on the list before the seats fill up.
