MEET YOUR LEGISLATORS
There will be a community meeting offering residents a chance to meet with their legislators on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. The meeting will be at the Mt. Top Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and at the Parsons Senior Center from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. All of the legislators have agreed to attend this session to hear your comments before the Legislature convenes. Please plan to attend and bring your comments so your concerns can be heard.
FEBRUARY OUTPOST
The Parsons Senior Center will hold its monthly outpost on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 beginning at 10:30 a.m. We will celebrate the holidays that occur in February with readings and special entertainment. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join in the fellowship. This is a fun time to get out of the house and meet with friends.
VALENTINE CELEBRATION
The Parsons Center will celebrate Valentine’s Day on Thursday, February 9, 2017. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. with music by the Goldenaires Choir. The day will conclude with the crowning of the Queen and King of Valentines. Participants at the Parsons Center will have the opportunity to vote for the Queen and King from Thursday, February 2, 2017 until Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Please take the opportunity to vote for our Queen and King and join us for the celebration.
TRAVEL NEWS
The second payment for the New York trip will be collected from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2017. If this is not convenient, please call the Parsons Center at 304-478-2424 to make other arrangements.
We are still taking names for the April 24th trip to Washington, PA to the Casino and Tanger Outlets. The cost is $55 per person.
There are also some seats still available for the Pirates Baseball game on July 20, 2017. We have obtained excellent seats behind home plate. If interested, please call the Parsons Center and get your name on the list before the seats fill up.
