CHRISTMAS TRIP TO CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

We are taking names of those people interested in a Christmas trip to Charleston, SC December 4th through 7th. This 4 day/3 night trip will include 3 breakfasts, 2 dinners, James Island Holiday Festival of Lights, A guided tour of Charleston, Christmas at the Billy Graham Library featuring a live Nativity, and shopping at Charleston’s Historic City Market. The price will be $525 per person based on double occupancy. If interested, call 304-478-2423 ASAP to get your name on the list. The last day to get you name on the list is September 6th.We will be making the final decision after that date.

  1. TOP LABOR DAY CELEBRATION

The Mt Top Center will have a short Labor Day program on Tuesday, August 28th beginning at 11:15 a.m. Please join us as we remember the great Labor force that keeps this country running. Lunch will follow the program.

FLANAGAN HILL OUTPOST

The Flanagan Hill Outpost will be held on Wednesday, August 22nd at noon at the Community Building. This is a great time to get together and visit with your friends and neighbors. Please bring your favorite covered dish and enjoy a time of good food and fellowship.

PARSONS LABOR DAY CELEBRATION

The Parsons Center will have a Labor Day Celebration on Thursday, August 30th. The Goldenaires Choir will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the program beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. Please join us for this program and the lunch that will follow.

ATTORNEY GENERAL’S REPRESENTATIVE WILL VISIT PARSONS

The representative from the Attorney General’s office will be at the Parsons Center on Thursday,, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m. If you have a concern or need more information about services offered, please come and talk to her. The Attorney General is especially concerned about Elder Abuse and has set up a hotline at 304-558-1155. If you know of a senior citizen who is being abused or neglected financially, physically, or mentally, please come talk to the representative or call the above number.

BUCKWHEAT FESTIVAL TRIP

We are taking names for a trip to the Buckwheat Festival in Kingwood on Friday, September 28th. The places on the van will be filled in the order of the calls received. The price for the van ride is $5. You are responsible for your meals. We will leave Parsons around 10 a.m. and return at approximately 4 p.m. If interested, please call 304-478-2423 to get on the list.

STATE FOREST FESTIVAL ENTERTAINMENT NIGHT

We are offering a van ride to see Sawyer Brown at the Harper McNeely Auditorium on Saturday, October 6th at 7:30 p.m. The price of the ticket is $30 and the charge for the van is $5. We need to have a $15 non-refundable deposit by Thursday, September 6th in order to hold the tickets. No additional seats can be reserved by us after this date. If interested, please call the Senior Center immediately. Places on the van will be filled in the order of calls received.
