TRAVEL NEWS

The first payment for the Maine and Boston trip is due tomorrow, Thursday, March 14th from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. If you need to mail your payment, the address is 217 Senior Lane  Parsons, WV 26287.

 We have begun arrangements for a tour of the Cumberland, MD area including stops at the High Country Creamery, Penn Alps/ Spruce Forest Artisan Village, the Gordon-Roberts House, the Aviary at Rocky Gap State Park, and a stop at Puccini’s Restaurant. This trip would be August 12th. The price will be $125 plus the cost of your meals. Please call the Center at 304-478-2423 and get your name on the list so we know how to proceed with these plans. If we do not hear by the end of the month we will consider just taking the few we do have on the list.

We are also taking names for a trip to Atlantic City on August 25th to 27th. We need to know if there is enough interest to proceed with the plans. Please call the Center immediately to get on the list so we can continue with the arrangements.

PARSONS ST. PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATION

The Parsons Center will be holding their St. Patrick’s Day Celebration tomorrow, Thursday, March 14th at 10:30 a.m. Please wear your green and join us for fun and fellowship.

SENIOR OLYMPICS

It’s not too early to begin thinking about the Senior Olympics. They will be held in Keyser, WV on June 11th through 14th. There is something everyone can do. Crafts include: baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, photography, wood crafts flower arranging etc. There is a spelling bee, a talent show, scrabble, bingo, bowling, ladderball, ping pong, cards, golf putting and many more activities. Please consider joining Team Tucker and help us “bring home the gold!”

NEEDED!

If you have a talent you would be willing to share with our seniors such as singing, playing an instrument, dancing etc. please call Linda Bonner, Activities Director at 304-478-2423. This would involve sharing your talent probably 1 or 2 Tuesdays per year during our Outposts for approximately 30 to 45 minutes.

MT. TOP OUTPOST & ST. PATRICK’S CELEBRATION

The Mt. Top Center will be having their March Outpost on Tuesday, March 19th beginning at 10:30 a.m. Please bring your favorite covered dish and join us for fun and fellowship as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with some special entertainment.

PNEUMONIA VACCINATION CLINIC

The Parsons Center will be having a pneumonia vaccination clinic on Thursday, March 21st beginning at 10:00 a.m. Please check with your doctor to make sure you are up to date with your shots. These vaccinations are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and some private insurance. This is being presented by Walgreens.

PARSONS PAPER PRODUCTS BINGO

Please join us for paper products bingo at the Parsons Center on Friday, March 15th beginning after lunch. This is a good time to spend with others and win some neat prizes. No one goes home without a prize.

ST. PAUL’S UMC TO HONOR CAREGIVERS

St. Paul’s UMC on Central Ave. in Parsons is hosting an honor Sunday for caregivers on Sunday, March 24th. Their service begins at 10:45 a.m. and will last approximately 50 minutes. They will then honor the caretakers of the area with a dinner in their fellowship hall. Please consider joining them so they may thank you and celebrate your willingness to help others. RSVP is not necessary but appreciated. You may leave a message on their Facebook page or call 304-478-4411 and let them know how many will be attending.
