Flu Shot Clinic
The Tucker County Health Department will have a Flu Shot Clinic from 5 -6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Tucker County Health Department. Shots will be given to anyone 18 years of age and older. Medicare and insurance holders bring your card, you will not be charged any co-pay. If you don’t have insurance, you can still receive a shot at no cost. Flu shots are available during regular office hours. Call for appointment at 304-478-3572.

ELKINS, W.Va. – The following waters were stocked the week of Oct. 13, 2015.
Blackwater River, Buckhannon River, Seneca Lake, Shavers Fork (Bemis), Shavers Fork (lower section), Shavers Fork (upper section), Teter Creek Lake, Tygart Tailwaters, Tygart Valley River Headwaters.
Food Handler’s Training Classes
Tucker County Health Department will be conducting Food Handler’s Training Classes at the Senior Center in Parsons, on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Those persons attending the class will be issued a food handler’s permit which will be good for two years. A $10 registration fee will be collected upon admittance. The classes will start promptly and late arrivals will not be admitted.
30th Anniversary of 1985 Flood
An event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the devastating flood of 1985 will be held in Parsons on Thursday, November 5. A brief outdoor ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. A reception with stories from the flood and a historical exhibit will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Tucker County Courthouse. The event is free and open to the public. The flood commemoration is sponsored by PRO ON TRAC and the Tucker County Historical Society.
FOP Christmas Party
The Fraternal Order of Police Seneca Trail Lodge #104 will be making phone calls in our area for donations for the annual Christmas Party for disadvantaged children in our communities.
TVEMS Fall Carnival
The Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School will hold the Fall Carnival on Oct. 24 at the School. Coronation will be at 4:30 p.m. with the carnival running from 5 – 7 p.m.
PVFD Fall Festival
The Parsons Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct 24 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served and treat bags for children in costume. A cake/anything walk at 6:30 p.m.
