Country music singer and songwriter Canaan Smith will perform at The Icehouse on November 2 at 10 p.m. The free performance is presented by Davis & Elkins College Student Life and Campus Activities Board.
The College’s traditional Phipps Lectureship features guest speaker Dr. Andrew Johanson. The free lecture, titled “Lessons Learned From My Life as a Psychotherapist,” will be presented on November 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Halliehurst Great Hall.
A rescheduled performance by “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips will take place on November 8 at 7 p.m. in Myles Center for the Arts Harper-McNeeley Auditorium. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Elkins-Randolph County YMCA.
The dance troupe Urban Artistry will perform at 7:30 p.m. November 9 in Myles Center for the Arts Harper-McNeeley Auditorium. Dance workshops will be scheduled the following day. Both events are presented by Davis & Elkins College and the Department of Fine & Performing Arts.
The British National Debate Team brings its Fall Tour/Committee on International Discussion and Debate to Halliehurst Great Hall on November 11 at 7:30 p.m. Davis & Elkins College has been selected as one of approximately 25 colleges and universities in the United States to host a British National Debate Team event. The British students and D&E students will participate in a debate on a significant controversial topic. Admission is free.
The Davis & Elkins College music and dance ensemble Appalachian Spirit wraps up the month with its Fall Performance on November 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Myles Center for the Arts Harper-McNeeley Auditorium. Admission is free.
