WV Raptor Rehabilitation Center in Fairmont,will release a Bald Eagle in Canaan Valley on August 4.The last eagle release was at Tygart Lake State Park. Everyone welcome.
Bible School
The Nazarene Church will be having Bible school on August 9,10 and 11 from 6-8:30 p.m. Camp Out…Getting S’more of Jesus!
TCHS Cheer Meeting
There will be an informational meeting for any Tucker County High School student and parents who are interested in cheering at TCHS, on Monday, July 30 at 6 p.m. in the gymnasium. A 2.0 GPA is required to participate. Bring a completed physical on the required WVSSAC form with any additional paperwork you may have. Irish Road Bowling National Championship
The West Virginia Irish Road Bowling Association (WVIRBA) will host the national championship at Blackwater Falls State Park, August 3- 5, 2018. The public is encouraged to attend and learn.
Three clubs, Boston, New York City, and West Virginia, meet each year in these Bol~Chumann na hEireann North American Region Finals. The winners advance to the ultimate competition, the All Ireland Finals, hosted this year in Boston, October 6 – 7.
Voyages in the Valley
Saturday, July 28, 10 a.m., Voyages in the Valley: Nature Journaling. Join us for a walk at Beall where we will discuss Nature Journaling. A nature journal is a place to grow your thoughts, feelings, ideas, observations, and experiences with nature. Keeping one provides a rich opportunity to study the natural world and develop a deeper relationship with the earth. Meet at the Visitor Center.
Spaghetti Dinner
Spaghetti Dinner at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Parsons on Saturday, July 28 from 4 – 7 p.m. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad roll, dessert and drink for an $8 donation. Delivery in the Parsons area available by calling 304-478-2620 on Saturday. Sponsored by the United Methodist Women of St. John’s U.M.C.
Free Friday
Free Friday will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, July 27, at 6 p.m.
Sandwiches, salads, baked beans, chips, desserts and drinks will be served. Everyone is invited to attend.
Hendricks Historic Marker Celebration
A new historic marker, located where the rail trail crosses Route 72, in Hendricks, will be unveiled August 4 at 11 a.m., refreshments will be served at Hendricks Town Hall , hear speakers, and meet with local history groups.
