Free Thanksgiving Dinner

The Blackwater Ministerial Association will sponsor the annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Thomas Educational Center at 12:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2018. Everyone is welcome. The meal includes Turkey, Stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes, gravy, green beans, dinner roll, coffee, punch, and pumpkin pie. Deliveries to those who cannot come, call 304-866-6243 for information.

Christmas House Tours

PRO ON TRAC will be hosting Christmas House Tours on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. -noon. Three homes and one historical building will be decorated for the holidays and open to the public. Tickets will be on sale Nov. 15 at City Hall and Shop ‘N Save for $7 each (good for all locations) and also at each featured location during tour times for $10. All proceeds will be used in the on going revitalization of Downtown Parsons.

Events at CVNWR

Saturday, November 17, 8 a.m. Mid-Autumn Bird Walk. It’s a time of year when you never know what birds you’ll see. Join Casey Rucker at the Refuge Visitor Center. Please note: If the weather is snowy and windy, or roads are impassable, the walk will be postponed until the next day at the same time. If bad conditions continue on the next day, the walk will be cancelled.

Mountaintop Public Library November Schedule

Mountaintop Public Library November Schedule will be Thurssay, Nov. 15 – 1:30-7 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 19 – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 20 – 12:30-7 p.m.; Wednesday, Nov. 21 – 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.. Library will closed Nov. 22 and 23.

Ham & Bean Dinner

Leadmine CERT Ham & Bean Dinner, Saturday, November 17 from 4 – 7 p.m. in the Leadmine Church Fellowship Hall. The Menu will be Ham, Brown or White Beans, Corn Bread or Hot Rolls, Home Fried Potatoes, Cole Slaw, Drink and Dessert. Carry-outs available. Price $8 for adults and teens. Ages 5-12 will be $4, under 5 is FREE. Deer hunters are welcome! Bake Sale will be held, too.

Holiday Children’s Art Classes

Art classes for children grades 3-8 will be Sunday, November 18m from 2-3:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 1 from 10-11:30 am. Sarah Ferguson will assist students in making art projects that can be displayed at the Train Depot during Christmas House Tours on December 7 and 8. There is no cost for the classes which are being funded through the Tucker Cultural Art District, but space is limited. Classes will be at the Five Rivers Library. Decorate the Depot

PRO OnTrac will be sponsoring a tree decorating competition at the train depot on Saturday, December 1 at noon. Teams of colleagues, friends, businesses, neighbors and/or families can sign up to decorate a tree which will be displayed during the Christmas House Tours. Consider trimming a tree—use a theme if you wish. The “best of show” will be voted on by patrons of the House Tour.
