Buckwheat Dinner

Buckwheat Dinner on March 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Parsons. All you can eat $8 donation to the St. John’s United Methodist Men.

Mountaineer Garden Club Meeting

The Mountaineer Garden Club will meet Tuesday, March at 6 p.m. at Five Rivers Public Library in Parsons. Public is invited to attend.

Buckwheat Cakes and Sausage

There will be a buckwheat and sausage dinner from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at Masontown United Methodist Church. Adult dinners $9; children $5; biscuits and gravy $5; and hotdogs, chips and pop $3.

Chili Dinner

The Thomas United Methodist Church is sponsoring a Chili Soup dinner featuring Pastor Jay’s Award Winning Chili, from 3 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the Thomas Senior Center. The meal will include chili soup, roll, dessert and drink for the price of a donation.

Save the Date

There will be a Spring Gospel Sing Fundraiser on Saturday, March 30 sponsored by The Thomas United Methodist Church. Your favorite local singers will be there, also food and an auction. More information later.

Historic Landmark Commission Meeting

The Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission will meet Monday, March 11 at 4 p.m. at the Tucker County Historical Society Museum located at the Board of Education Annex. The public is welcome to attend.

Retired School Employees Meeting

The Tucker County Retired School Employees will meet on Thursday, March 14 at noon at Little Andi’s Restaurant. Discussions will include current legislation and insurance benefits. All retired school employees are invited.

Tucker County Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance (SALDO Meeting

The Tucker County Planning Commission will be holding a public discussion on the the Tucker County Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance (SALDO) that it will recommend to the Tucker County Commission for adoption later this year. The first informal meeting will be held at the Davis Fire Hall on March 7 at 6 p.m. This ordinance if adopted, will apply to all unincorporated properties of Tucker County. A follow on meeting will occur later in the month at the Tucker County Court House. These meetings are to receive public comment before the final ordinance is presented to the commission for their consideration. Lenten Fish Fry

Lenten Fish Fry will be Friday, March 8, at Our Lady of Mercy Social Hall, in Parsons and St Thomas Center, in Thomas from 4 to 6 p.m. Meal includes 8oz. Fish Fillet, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Dinner Roll, Fruit Salad, coffee and punch for $8. Eat in or carry out, at both locations.

West Virginia trout stocking

ELKINS, W.Va. – The following waters were stocked: Blackwater River; Brandywine Lake; Burnsville Tailwaters; Dry Fork (Tucker); Horseshoe Run; Tygart Valley River Headwaters.

Historical Society Meeting

The Tucker County Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at the Tucker County Historical Society Museum in the Tucker County Annex at 501 Chestnut St., Parsons. Visitors welcome.

Spaghetti Dinner

There will be a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department. The price is $10 eat in or carry out. Sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary.

Snowshoe and Constellation Walk

There will be an snowshoe and constellation walk on March 9, 8pm. Snowshoe Discovery Walk. Join Park Ranger Ted Hodson at White Grass for an evening snowshoe and constellation walk. Learn about constellations and the night sky.

Full Board Meeting

The Region VI Workforce Development Full Board will meet Thursday, March 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the Marion County Convention and Visitors Bureau located in Fairmont.
