Pies for Easter
Our Lady of Mercy Cchurch Guild is taking orders for coconut cream, lemon meringue or chocolate pies for $10 each. Place orders by April 1 by calling Melinda at 304-478-3814. Pick up on Friday, April 19 from 1-3 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church Social Hall.
Lenten Fish Fry
Lenten Fish Fry will be Friday, March 22, at Our Lady of Mercy Social Hall, in Parsons and St Thomas Center, in Thomas from 4 to 6 p.m. 8oz. Fish Fillet, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Dinner Roll, Fruit Salad, coffee and punch for $8. Eat in or carry out, at both locations.
West Virginia trout stocking
The following waters were stocked: Blackwater River; Buckhannon River; Clover Run; Dry Fork (Tucker); Horseshoe Run; Shavers Fork (Bemis); Shavers Fork (lower section); Shavers Fork (upper section); Spruce Knob Lake; Summersville Tailwaters; Tygart Lake Tailwaters; Tygart Valley River Headwaters.
Public Discussion on Tucker County Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance
The Tucker County Planning Commission will be holding a public discussion on the Tucker County Subdivision and Land Use Ordinance (SALDO) that it will recommend to the Tucker County Commission for adoption later this year. The next informal meeting will be held at the Tucker County Courthouse Courtroom on March 28 at 6 p.m. This ordinance if adopted, will apply to all unincorporated properties of Tucker County. These meetings are to receive public comment before the final ordinance is presented to the commission for their consideration. Elimination Dinner
Tucker County 4-H Leaders will host an Elimination Dinner on Sunday, March 31 at 1 p.m. at Camp Kidd. Price of ticket is $30. This includes dinner for two consisting of baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean, cole slaw, roll, dessert and drink and a to win $1,000. Every 25th ticket drawn will be a $50 prize winner. For tickets call the Extension Office at (304)-478-2949 ext 209.
STEAM and CTE night
Tucker County High School will host the annual STEAM and CTE night on April 4 at 6 p.m. TCHS art students will be putting on a student art show, and the science, English, and robotic programs will also be on display, also the school’s jazz band will be performing, and students will present a short talent show. Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome to attend.
