Hunter’s Education Program

There will be Hunter’s Education Program from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 and from 1 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Tucker County Senior Center, in Parsons. must be at least 10 years old to test and be accompained by a parent or adult guardian. Class limit to 30. Instructors are: Rob Porter, Digger Burns, Deputy Chris Teter and Tucker County Conservation Office.
The Hunter Education Program provides free classes taught by volunteer instructors and Natural Resources Police Officers. Topics include: gun safety, wildlife management, ethics, survival/first aid, game identification, and how to hunt safely.
You will enjoy listening to volunteer instructors and Natural Resources Police Officers pass on their expertise and hunting experiences, talking with your fellow hunters during class breaks, and getting familiar with the total hunting experience. Extra help is available for those who may need it. For info call Rob Porter at 304-704-6774.

Spaghetti Dinner And Silent Auction

Celebrate Recovery Will Be Having A Spaghetti Dinner And Silent Auction At Parsons Church Of God On September 22 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Donation. Eat In or Carry Out.

Buckwheat Cakes and Sausage

Masontown United Methodist Church, in Masontown, WV, will have a buckwheat and sausage feed from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.25, Thursday, Sept. 26, Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28; Adults $9, children $5. Hotdogs also available.

Cake and Anything Walk

There will be a Cake and Anything Walk at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 in the Parsons Volunteer Fire Department. Sponsored by The Ladies Auxiliary.

Movie Night Monday

Movie Night Monday at Five Rivers Public Library, September 23, at 6 p.m. Showing “The Mule”, A 90 year old horticulturist and Korean War veterans turns drug mule for a Mexican cartel. Rated R, run time 116 minutes Free Community Event, snacks and drinks available.

Happenings at CVWR

Friday, September 20, 10 am, Storytime: Bring the young ones and join volunteers as they talk about a new nature-oriented topic. Volunteers will read one or more stories to children to help them understand all the fascinating things about some feature of our natural world. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.
Saturday, September 21, 10 am. Wildflower Walk: What’s Blooming. Come out to the refuge to see what plants are currently blooming in the area. Jess Tucker will be your leader in finding out what is out there. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.

Farm Bureau Meeting

The Tucker County Farm Bureau will have their annual meeting to elect officers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 26 at The Dug Out.
