Lenten Fish Fry, Friday March 13, Our Lady of Mercy Social Hall, in Parsons and St Thomas Center, in Thomas, from 4 to 6 p.m. 8oz. Fish Fillet, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Dinner Roll, Fruit Salad, coffee and punch for $8. Eat in or carry out, at both locations.
Master Naturalist Happenings
Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m., at the DNR Operational Center on Ward Road in Elkins, the Tygart Valley Master Naturalist Chapter is sponsoring a program titled “Ecology and Management of the Eastern Coyote.” The presenter is Dr. Sheldon Owen of the WV Extension Service. Coordinators from Tygart Valley and Canaan Valley Master Naturalist chapters will be present after the presentation to introduce the Master Naturalist program and answer questions about their upcoming classes. On Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m., at the new National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center, the Canaan Valley Master Naturalist Chapter is sponsoring a program titled Extreme Environments, Amazing Adaptations: The Plants of Mount Everest. The presenter is Elizabeth Byers, the Senior Watershed Scientist for the WV Department of Environmental Protection.
Parsons High School Alumni Meeting
The Parsons High School Alumni Association will meet on Thursday, March 12, at the Depot Diner, in Parsons at 5 p.m.. Plans are underway for the 2020 PHS Alumni weekend. Bring any updated addresses as letters will be going out soon.
Buckwheat Dinner

World War II and Korean War Dinner
TUCKER COUNTY VETERANS ASSOCIATION will have a dinner honoring World War II and Korean War Veterans from noon – 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 14 at Camp Kidd Park. Homemade chili, cornbread, loaded baked potatoes, desserts and drinks for $9.
