The Gospel Sing Local Talent

The Golden Aries, SonBeams, Mike Helmick, Danny Barkley, and Rocky Hebb will be performing at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 24 at Mill Race Park. Hamburgers and hot dogs plus lots more. Bring chairs or blankets. Mill Race Park is alcohol free.

Mountain State Transmitters Radio Club field day at Camp Kidd

The Mountain State Transmitters Radio Club invites folks to stop by Camp Kidd in Parsons Saturday and Sunday as the group participates in Field Day, which takes place each year on the last full weekend in June. The event offers the public the chance to meet with and talk to members about their hobby. Amateur radio groups from across the United States participate in Field Day and the ham radio bands are full of amateurs making contact with others across the US, teaching others about different modes of radio operations and showing emergency capabilities on an amateur radio.

Uhl speaking at First United Methodist Church

Marilyn Uhl of Living Hope High School in Bungoma, Kenya, Africa will be speaking at First United Methodist Church in Parsons, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 22. Everyone is invited to come and learn about ways this mission is changing the lives of youth in Africa.

Miles for Miranda walk/run

There will be a 5k run and 2 mile walk at 9 a.m. on Aug. 6 at Mill Race Park. Music will beprovided, registration fee is $10. Friends of Cortland Acres to Meet

Rowlesburg Breakfast Buffet

Rowlesburg Breakfast Buffet, 8 a.m. – noon, Sunday, June 26 at Rowlesburg VFW. Serving sausage, bacon, gravy and biscuits, eggs, home fries, pancakes; blueberry, buckwheat and corn cakes. $10 adults $6 children 12 and under. Sponsored by VFW Post 3008 and Ladies Auxiliary.

CAKE WALK

PRO ON TRAC will be hosting a CAKE WALK this friday evening at Mill Race Park during the Friday Night Music event. Donated cakes are welcome. Proceeds benefit the revitalization of downtown Parsons.

CHICKEN BURN

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will hold a CHICKEN BURN on Saturday, June 25 at the corner of Quality Hill and 219 at 11 a.m. Proceeds benefit the Bolivia Orphanage Mission.

Church of God fundraiser during St. George Days

The St. George Church of God will be selling sausage gravy and biscuits meals at 8 a.m. and for lunch will have Manwich, macaroni salad, baked beans and water. Silent auction, bake sale and yard sale items.
