Union Chapel Church Homecoming

The Union Chapel Church homecoming will be on Sunday, Sept. 17. Friends are invited to bring food to share for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Sunday school at 11 a.m. and a short program in the afternoon.

Aurora Project to Host Annual Barn Dance

The Aurora Project will host a Barn Dance at Brookside Farm off Route 50 in Aurora, on Sunday, Oct. 1 from 2 -6 p.m. There will be a silent auction and door prizes. Refreshments will be provided. $15/ person, under 10 are free. Proceeds will benefit The Aurora Project. For more information, please call Annie Snyder 304 866-2110, ext. 222.

Aurora Project to Sponsor Fine Art Exhibit

The Aurora Project, Inc. will host an exhibit featuring the paintings and sculpture of master artist Paul Lucchesi at the General Store on Route 50 in Aurora. The exhibit opens Saturday, Sept. 30 and is open weekends through Saturday, Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and by appointment. Fee of charge. Book Reading

The Mountaintop Public Library Book Club will have special reading by WV author Patricia Harman. She will read and discuss her book “Blue Cotton Gown: A Midwife’s Memoir” at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18, at Canaan State Park Lodge. Everyone welcome.

DAR Meeting

The Blackwater Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their monthly meeting on Sept. 16, 2017 at 1p.m at Lil’ Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons. All members are urged to attend.

Story time

The Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge presents “Storytime” on Friday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. The theme is “Dragonflies” and there will be a story, an activity and snack. Everyone welcome.

Monthly Sing

The monthly sing at St. George United Methodist Charge will be Saturday, Sept. 16 at the Leadmine United Methodist church at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
