Historic Landmark Commission meeting

The regular monthly meeting of the Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 18 at the former National Bank of Davis building, second floor, first office to the left.

PHS Alumni Meeting

The Parsons High School Alumni Association will meet on Thursday, June 14, at Little Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons at 5 p.m.
Discussion of the previous alumni banquet and your input for 2019 is needed.

CVNWR Happenings

Saturday, June 16, 9-11 a.m., Roadside Cleanup. Join Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge AmeriCorps and staff for a trash clean up along a one mile section of the Appalachian Highway in front of the Refuge Visitor Center. Meet at Visitor Center.
Saturday, June 16, 10 a.m. What’s Blooming, Flower Walk. Come out to the refuge to see what plants are currently blooming in the area. Master Naturalist Jess Tucker will be your leader in finding out what is out there. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center.
Saturday, June 16, 3 p.m. Valley Vibes Habitat Management. Refuge Manager Ron Hollis will be talking about Habitat Management; why the refuge manages habitat and how the species benefit.

Picture Book Story Hour

Join Mountaintop Public Library for “Picture Book Story Hour” every Tuesday from June 19 to July 17, 1 – 2 p.m.

Movies and Munchies

Movies and Munchies at Five Rivers Public Library, Thursdays, June 14 – August 9, 1 – 3 p.m. June 14 showing, Ferdinand, Rated PG.; June 21 showing, Wonder Woman, Rated PG-13; June 28 showing Paddington 2, Rated PG. mSnacks and drinks provided. Free Community Event – Open to all ages.
