Mountain State Transmitters Amateur Radio Club

The Mountain State Transmitters Amateur Radio Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at the Leading Creek Volunteer Fire Department. All amateur radio operators and those interested in ham radio are welcome to attend.


Friends of Cortland Acres meeting

The monthly meeting of the Friends of Cortland Acres will be held on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Cortland Acres chapel. For information, call Marie Grafton, Activity Director at 304-463-4181 ext.218.


The Allegheny Highlands Trail Clean Up

The Allegheny Highlands Trail Clean Up will Saturday, April 1 from 10 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are welcome.Meet at River City Skate Park.Gloves and Bags will be provided. Free Snacks for all Participants. Rain date will be Sunday, April 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sponsored by Parsons Revitalization Organization.


Free Friday

Free Friday will be held at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, March 31 at 6 pm. A free meal consisting of
a variety of soups, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend. No donations accepted.


Program on Elk Re-introduction

Program on Elk Re-introduction into southern West Virginia – Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m. at the DNR Operations Center on Ward Road in Elkins. An introductory meeting for the WV Master Naturalist program will be held following the program. Canaan Valley and Tygart Valley Master Naturalist programs will be represented. Free and open to the public


Chicken Burn

Ms. Ray and Ms. Jay’s TVEMS Pre -School will be selling chicken dinners in the TVEMS Annex Gym on Saturday, April 8 from 4 p.m. until they are gone. Dinners include half chicken, coleslaw, beans, roll and drink for $10.


Lenten Fish Fry

Lenten Fish Fry, Friday, March 31, at Our Lady of Mercy Social Hall, in Parsons and St. Thomas Center, in Thomas from 4 to 7 p.m. Meal includes 8oz. Fish Fillet, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans, Cole Slaw, Dinner Roll, Fruit Salad, coffee and punch for $8. Eat in or carry out, at both locations.
