Leadmine Homecoming
The Annual Leadmine Homecoming will be Sunday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at the Leadmine United Methodist Church Fellowship Building. This began as a gathering of attendees of the Pleasant Vale, Leadmine and Shafftertown Schools, however this event is open to all past and present members of these communities. Bring a covered dish to share and a raffle gift. All are welcome.

Storytime
The Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge will be having “Storytime” on Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. The theme is Birds and is part of International Migratory Bird Week. There will be a story, a craft and snack. Hope to see you there!! Questions–call Marilyn at 304-866-3484.
Cooking with Karen
Cooking with Karen classes teach easy how to cooking skills that make your meals easy to prepare, good for your family, and delicious. Learn time saving food-pep short cuts, family pleasing recipes, and money saving ideas. Classes are free and fun. The next class will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, May 16, 23, 30 and June 6 at First United Methodist Church in Parsons. Call the WVU Extension Service Office at 304-478-2949.
Taste of Tucker Farmers Market
The Taste of Tucker Farmers Market had their first meeting to start planning the season. If you are interested in selling some of your surplus produce this year it is not too late to register for the market! The market will be held Wednesdays at Mill Race Park from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday at the Thomas River Front from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon at the Courthouse Square. PHS Alumni meeting
The Parsons High School Alumni Association will meet on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Little Andi’s Restaurant in Parsons at 5 p.m. This will be the last meeting before the Alumni Banquet on May 27.
