Winter on the Wing Birdwalk. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 8 a.m. Meet at the Refuge Visitor Center. Winters in Canaan Valley can be harsh and long. How are birds preparing for the winter and how do they survive? See which birds have stayed and which ones have moved on for the winter. Bring binoculars or use a pair of ours. PLEASE NOTE: If the weather is snowy and windy, or roads are impassable, the walk will be postponed until the next day at the same time. If bad weather continues into the next day, the walk will be canceled.
