On Saturday, January 11 at the Thomas Education Center, come learn to bake both sweet and savory treats with wholesome, easy-to find ingredients with Chef Sara Bir. We’ll explore alternative sweeteners, compare shortening and coconut oil, and learn the tricks for egg- and dairy-free desserts that aren’t gummy or gluey. With Sara’s guidance, participants will prepare chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bread, cranberry streusel bars, fudgy brownies and spanakopita (rich and flaky greens-filled pastries)… and of course get to try each of them too!  Sara Bir is a chef, culinary educator, and food writer. Learn more about her at www.sarabir.com

Registration fee is $25. We do have a minimum to cover Sara’s travel from Ohio and ingredients that are sure to surprise your taste buds… so don’t delay in registering with Kimmy at phffi@frontier.com.  Sponsored by Potomac Highlands Food and Farm.
