PARSONS – Caitlyn Rose Hebb, of Parsons, appeared before Magistrate Riley Barb Tuesday in Tucker County Magistrate Court. Hebb was charged with one count of child abuse causing injury.
Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Ray LaMora said the preliminary hearing was contested and the state made a motion to keep the youth victim from having to testify.
“Magistrate Riley Barb granted our motion, so the child did not have to testify,” LaMora said.
LaMora said Tucker County Chief Deputy Edward Surguy testified to the facts of the case, and he said the defense did not present any witnesses.
Magistrate Barb found probable cause in the case, and it was bound over to circuit court.
The criminal complaint alleges that on or about Dec. 10, Hebb threw a sippy cup at the 8-year-old alleged victim, hitting them in the face and blacking their left eye. The complaint says Hebb threw the cup because the alleged victim was making noises and was disturbing the game Hebb was playing on the television.
