The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
- Margaret Wamsley, Elkins, was cited for expired registration by Cpl. D.W. Burge. She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
- Charles W. Harvey, Oakland, Md. was cited for speeding (74-65) by Cpl. J.E. Kopec. He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
- Danielle M. Ellis, Anchorage, AK, was cited for speeding (35-25) by Cpl. D.W. Burge. She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:
- Kristopher Adam Speas, Parsons, was charged with one felony count of failure to register; Sex Offender Life Registrant. According to the complaint, on Monday, March 26 TFC J.J. Schmidle, of the West Virginia State Police, reviewed information provided to him by Sgt. C.D. Siler in regards to a registered sex offender. The defendant’s initial registry listed his residence at 16 Chris St., Mr. Richard Helmick’s residence. The defendant is on parole and was outfitted with a GPS monitoring device. On Dec. 5, 2017 Speas asked Helmick to drive him to Clarksburg because he was going to live with his girlfriend. Helmick allegedly drove him to a parking lot in Clarksburg and dropped him and his girlfriend off. Speas failed to provide the WVSP Parsons Detachment notice to this change and this also violated his parole. He was apprehended on Dec. 21, 2017 for shoplifted and parole violation, then transported to the Northern Regional Jail. Schmidle reviewed Speas’s sex offender registration and determined he had failed to provide the above listed sex offender registration information change to the WVSP Parsons Detachment within the ten days information change mandate, on any change of information. Speas has a felony conviction date of May 7, 2001 for third degree sexual abuse. He is a lifetime registrant. A PR bond of $5,000 was posted and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 25 at 10 a.m. before Magistrate William M. Miller.
- Lisa Fay Sharp, Elkins, was charged with one count of Domestic Battery. The complaint states that on Sunday, March 18 officers were dispatched by Tucker County Communications 911 to 202 Sunnyside Lane (Tucker Manor Apartments), Apartment 215 for a domestic violence complaint. Deputy B.T. Zirk of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Office and 1st Sgt. K.L. Keplinger of the West Virginia State Police responded. Upon arrival officers could hear verbal arguing through the apartment door before being answered by a female subject, later identified as Lisa Fay Sharp. Upon entering officers observed broken glass on the floor. Officers also observed a male subject, later identified as Patrick Lester Coffman, sitting on the couch appearing to have blood on his face and head area. The two were separated and EMS was called to respond. While speaking with Zirk, Coffman allegedly stated that they were having dinner and drinking beer. He started they allegedly began to argue and during the argument Sharp hit him in the head with a vase. Zirk then spoke to Sharp who allegedly stated she wanted to lie down and Coffman was staying up. She allegedly stated that Coffman continued to drink and was cussing her and they began to argue. She stated she was going to call 911 and he threatened to take her phone. She said Coffman took her phone and went into the kitchen. She further stated she grabbed him and he grabbed her and she allegedly flipped out and hit him with a vase. Written statements were obtained from both parties and Coffman was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the altercation. A $500 property/surety bond was not posted.
- Patrick Lester Coffman, Montrose, was charged with one count Domestic Violence and one count Interfering with Emergency Communications. The complaint states that on Sunday, March 18 officers were dispatched by Tucker County Communications 911 to 202 Sunnyside Lane (Tucker Manor Apartments), Apartment 215 for a domestic violence complaint. - Christopher John Alan Petty, Lancaster, Ohio, was charged with three counts of Violation of Domestic Violence Protective Order. According to the complaint, on Tuesday, March 6, Chief Deputy C.R. Donelson, of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Office, was contacted by Kayla Ketterman regarding a DVPO violation. Upon meeting with her she stated that on Jan 11 the defendant shared a post on Facebook that she had been tagged in a year earlier. On the post Petty allegedly wrote, “I wish things were different. I wish I still had your love in my life everything is so empty without you. I still love you and pray one day you can forgive me.” Donelson observed photographic evidence confirming the post from Petty. On Saturday, March 3 at approximately 1 p.m. she stated she dropped her kids off to Petty’s mother who was supposed to pick up the kids for Petty’s visitation. While doing so she allegedly states she observed Petty in his mother’s car reclined back in the seat. Per the DVPO he is forbidden to be in the immediate area of Ketterman. At approximately 3:30 p.m. Petty was again present in his mother’s car when Ketterman got the kids back from visitation. He has a prior conviction for a DVPO violation on Aug. 30, 2017. A property/surety bond of $6,000 was not posted.
The following cases have been ordered and adjudged in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
- State of West Virginia verses Britni M. Ball, Parsons, received judgment of Motion by the Prosecuting Attorney to dismiss-Granted by the Magistrate-No fees charged in the case for one count Petit Larceny which occurred on March 4. The WVSP will re-file with new charges. This case was heard on May 10 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
- St George Medical Clinic verses Pennington: This case was found in favor of St George Medical Clinic in the amount of $92.03 plus $75 court cost against Kelly Pennington. This case was heard on May 3 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
- St George Medical Clinic verses Molone: This case was found in favor of St George Medical Clinic in the amount of $122 plus $75 court cost against Steve Molone. This case was heard on May 3 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
- St George Medical Clinic verses Goss: This case was found in favor of St George Medical Clinic in the amount of $60.03 against Adam Goss. This case was heard on May 3 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
- One Main Home Equity verses Bonner: On May 7 this case was dismissed with prejudice against Terry C. Bonner. This case was heard on May 7 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
- Cherry verses Yoakum Run Homeowners Association, Inc.: On May 10 this case was dismissed against Yoakum Run Homeowners Association, Inc. The parties settled. This case was heard on May 10 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
- Smith verses Yoakum Run Homeowners Association, Inc.: On May 10 this case was dismissed against Yoakum Run Homeowners Association, Inc. The parties settled. This case was heard on May 10 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
- Alpine-Sawmill LLC verses Wolfe: The court found in favor of Alpine-Sawmill LLC for $475 plus $75 court cost against Kelcey F. Wolfe. Wolfe must vacate premises.
