The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

  • Dorotha J. Hensil, Coalton, was cited for speeding (79-65) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $475 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Jessica D. Mitchell, Harman, was cited for no insurance by Cpl. J.E. Kopec.  She pled guilty and was assessed fines of $200 and court cost of $165.25.
  • James S. Wellschlager, Millersville, Md. was cited for speeding (69-65) by TFC J.J. Schmidle.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $14.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Edward N. Weese, Elkins, was cited for cell phone use and no seatbelt by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled guilty to both charges and was assessed fines of $125.
  • Philip A. Cassidy, Hambleton, was cited for no seatbelt by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
  • Rebecca L. Bonner, Hendricks, was cited for no seatbelt by Cpl. D.W. Burge.  She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
  • Mara C. Boggs, Charleston, was cited for speeding (74-65) by Cpl. J.E. Kopec.  She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.

The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

  • Jonathan Lane Nuzum, Hambleton, has been charged with one felony count of failure to register or provide notice of registration changes; penalty; penalty for aiding and abetting.  The complaint states that on Monday, April 5 at approximately 9:21 p.m. Tucker County Sheriff’s Deputy C.A. Teter informed Cpl. J.E. Kopec that he had conducted a traffic stop on Jonathan Lane Nuzum and he was operating a car owned by Susan Plumley.  Teter stated that the defendant was nervous and upon checking his criminal history through 911, he discovered he had been convicted of a sexual offense and later discovered he was on the sex offender registry through Clarksburg.  Teter stated that the defendant had been living in the county with his fiancée for approximately a year.  On April 6, Nuzum was contacted and arrived at the Parsons State Police Detachment where he provided a two page written report stating that he had lived in Hambleton for a month.  He also admitted to allegedly have been receiving mail at that location for approximately a year.  Nuzum is a lifetime registrant.  He posted a $5,000 bond and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 27 at 2:30 p.m. before Magistrate Riley H. Barb.

The following cases have been ordered and adjudged in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

  • State of West Virginia verses Jakcob Michael Pifer, Parsons, received judgment of dismissed by Mag-State-No Fee for one count unlawful disposal of litter on Feb. 2.  Motion to dismiss without prejudice was granted.  This case was heard on April 13 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
  • State of West Virginia verses Tina Marie Jones, Davis, received judgment of dismissed by Mag-State-No Fee for one count of domestic battery which occurred on March 2.  Motion by the State to dismiss was granted.  This case was heard on April 17 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
  • State of West Virginia verses Tina Marie Jones, Davis, received judgment of preliminary hearing waived for one felony count of persons prohibited from possessing firearms which occurred on March 4.  This case was heard on April 14 by Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
  • State of West Virginia verses Michael Glade Bennett, Moorefield, received a guilty plea-agreement for one count domestic battery which occurred on March 4.  He was assessed cost and fees of $165.25; suspended jail sentence of one year with 46 days served.  He must report to the Day Reporting Center of one year with fines waived and must pay restitution of $8,396.06.  He also received a guilty plea agreement for one count of preventing or deprivation of access to emergency services which occurred on the above date.  He was assessed fines of $250 and cost and fees of $165.25.  This case was heard on April 18 by Magistrate William M. Miller.
