Amy Michelle Jones, Hambleton, was charged with interference with officers; false information. On Saturday, Jan. 21 at approximately 9 p.m. Deputy B.T. Zirk, of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department, was notified by Cpl. D.W. Burge, of the West Virginia State Police, to go to 14 3rd St, Hambleton for an underage drinking complaint. Upon arrival, Zirk observed two young males standing in the driveway in front of the residence. Both males were 16 years old and one was observed holding an alcoholic beverage. When asked if they had been drinking, both allegedly answered yes. When asked who provided them with the alcohol, one youth stated that it was the defendant. When the defendant was questioned she allegedly stated that she did not know what was going on and denied multiple times giving the alcohol to the youths. Jones then stated that she knew they were drinking but did not know who bought it for them and she finally said she provided them the alcohol. She posted a $200 PR bond.
Paul Allen Jennings, Parsons, has been charged with 20 counts of violation of domestic violence order. The complaint states that on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at approximately 7:30 a.m. Deputy C.A. Teter, of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department, received a complaint from Tucker County 911. The complainant, Jessica Jennings, allegedly stated that her husband had been served with a protective order on Feb. 5. She further stated that the defendant had allegedly sent her messages from his phone and called from his dad’s residence for a total of 20 violations between the times/dates of 5:44 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 6:08 a.m. on Feb. 8. She identified the defendant’s voice on the phone calls made to her. Teter observed the messages and call logs on the victim’s phone from the defendant. He posted a property/surety bond of $5,000 and a court hearing is scheduled for March 23 at 10:30 a.m. before Magistrate William M. Miller.
Michael Calvin Jones, Jr. Hendricks, was charged with two felony counts of failure to register as sex offender second offense, and one misdemeanor count of false information to Trooper. According to the complaint, Jones is a lifetime sex offender registrant in West Virginia. He has been a registered sex offender in Monongalia County and moved to Tucker County sometime in the summer months of 2016. Over the past several months Sgt. C.D. Siler, of the West Virginia State Police, had been receiving anonymous calls in regards to Jones living in Tucker County. During his investigation he learned that Troopers from the Tucker County Detachment as well as Deputies of the Tucker County Sheriff’s Department have been called to respond to Just a Hilly Farm in Hendricks. These calls mostly involved Jones being intoxicated. The officers were unaware that Jones was a registered sex offender and had failed to register in Tucker County. As of August 31, 2016, Jones had failed to come to the State Police Detachment in Tucker County and complete his initial registration. There is no record of him making any attempts to do his initial registration. Jones has a prior conviction of failure to register. He was convicted on July 28, 2008 on two counts of failing to register. On Feb. 13 Siler was attempting to register the defendant as a sex offender in Tucker County. The defendant has been living in Hendricks since the summer of 2016. While attempting to register him, he allegedly told Siler that he does not live at that residence or anywhere in Tucker County. Therefore, the defendant refused to register with the Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police in Tucker County once again. He is under a $10,000 cash only bond and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 23 at 10:45 a.m. before Magistrate William M. Miller.
