Magistrate News for September 16, 2014

The following citations have been recorded in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
  • Olivia L. Stone, of Thomas, was cited for no proof of insurance by Sr. Trp. J.J. Schmidle.  Charge was dismissed with proof shown.
  • Donna Kay Clovis, of Romney was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  She pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.  A second charge of no proof of insurance was dismissed with proof shown.
  • Raymond R. Mason, of Parsons, was cited for no seatbelt by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
  • Terry Lee Appel, of Hancock, Md. was cited for speeding (59-45) by Bryan Barb.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Rodney Leon Cooper, of Seneca Rocks, was cited for expired registration and no MVI by Cpl. D.W. Burge.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $9.50 and court cost of $330.50.
  • Larry Allen Dewitt, of Beverly, was cited for no insurance by Cpl. D.W. Burge.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.  A second charge of expired registration was dismissed with proof shown.
  • Bryan Allen McNemar, of Meyersdale, Pa. was cited for failure to use due cause by Sr. Trp. J.J. Schmidle.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of$165.25.
  • Arthur J. Marshall, of Gettysburg, Pa. was cited for speeding (54-45) by Trp. J.E. Kopec.  He pled guilty and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Kenneth D. Crews, of Clarendon Hills, Il, was cited for speeding (54-45) by Trp. J.E. Kopec.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Derek Mitchell Zirk, of Thomas, was cited for no seatbelt by Sr. Trp. J.J. Schmidle.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
  • Christopher Keith Clark, of Montrose, was cited for no seatbelt by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
  • James Bryan Ricottilli, of Montrose, was cited for no seatbelt by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $25.
  • Bryan Erik Crowell, of State College, Pa. was cited for speeding (59-45) by Sgt. C.D. Siler.  He pled no contest and was assessed fines of $4.75 and court cost of $165.25.
  • Hanna Grace Daugherty, of Philippi, was cited for fishing without a license by Jeremiah Clark.  She pled guilty and was assessed fines of $20 and court cost of $165.25.

 

The following cases have been assigned in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

 

  • Robert Sturtz, of Cumberland, Md. was charged with speeding on Sept. 3 and pled not guilty on Sept. 10.  A court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 28 at 10:30 a.m. before Magistrate Riley H. Barb.
  • Albert Wright, of Mt. Storm, was charged with passing in no passing zone on Sept. 4.  He pled not guilty on Sept. 10 before Magistrate Carol D. Irons.

 

The following felony cases were heard in the Tucker County Magistrate Court:

 

  • Deana Clarke, of Parsons, was before Magistrate Carol D. Irons on Sept. 10 on the charge of intimidating a witness.  Probable cause was found and the case has been bound over to the Tucker County Circuit Court.  Clarke is in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail under a $10,000 cash only bond.
  • Cody Bulford, of Parsons, was charged with grand larceny (a felony) and domestic battery on Sept. 6.  According to the criminal complaint, Bulford allegedly shoved Kandice Sponaugle to the ground and throw a pumpkin at her striking her on the arm.  The defendant allegedly then forcibly took the victim’s cell phone and entered her car.  The victim advised him not to take her car, and he allegedly then left in said car.  Cpl. D.W. Burge contacted Bulford and advised him to bring the car back.  At which time he said he would not bring it back, if she wanted it, she could come and get it
