The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:
Jacob Brandon Ray: was charged with one count Domestic Assault and one count Destruction of Property. According to the complaint on Friday, Jan. 3 at approximately 5:12 p.m. Deputy B.M. Gidley responded to a domestic. Contact was made with a subject later identified as Jacob Ray, he was detained on scene. Officers made contact with the caller and obtained a handwritten and signed statement where she advised she had gotten home from work and Jacob had been dropped off by someone with his belongings, assuming he was allowed to stay there. The caller has had problems in the past with him and wouldn’t allow him to stay. He then began to get violent and yell thins like “Help me” and “Let me in”. The caller refused to let him in and he then allegedly stated, “It is f****** up of you” and “I should just kill you”. The caller refused to open the door and at this time he attempted to kick the door in. The caller called 911 and 911 dispatchers advised they could hear him attempting to make entry into the home. Gidley obtained photos of the door and he could clearly see dents on the bottom of the door and the deadbolt strike plate was damaged and the wood was splintered. Ray was kicking the door to the extent that a piece of wooden wall décor fell off the wall next to the door. He was then arrested and transported to the WVSP detachment in Parsons for processing. He was then transported to TVRJ to await arraignment.
Michael T. Proudfoot: was charged with one count of Battery. The complaint states that on Nov. 11, 2024 at approximately 8:37 a.m. Sgt. V.J. Pyles was dispatched to a battery complaint at 90 Quarry Dr. in Parsons located on Mountaineer Highway near the Barbour County line. Upon arrival he met with the victim and obvious injuries were noted. A large amount of blood was observed on the floor beneath the victim inside the scale house at his desk. Pyles was further advised at that time that the victim had gotten into an altercation with the defendant, a truck driver who hauls stone from the quarry. Past confrontations with DOH employees and a previous incident at the quarry location prompted the victim to refuse service to the defendant. This request was made by the owner of Doss Enterprises. When this information was relayed to the defendant, he got out of his vehicle and followed the victim towards the scale house continuing to argue and plead his case. The victim stated he stopped and turned around when he heard the defendant saying “something” and he was struck. The victim stated that he didn’t know how many times he was struck altogether but he was on the ground when he came to. The victim had a large amount of selling and bleeding from the left side of his eye area.
The defendant was located in Barbour County and a statement was taken. He stated there had been noise complaints/speed complaints from a residence near the quarry as well as an altercation with Weston DOH employees previously. He stated he got down from his truck to plead his case since work was scarce. He stated he followed the victim towards the scale house pleading is case when the victim stopped at the front of his pickup and placed his hand on is shirt. He stated he thought the victim was going to hit him but then he was not sure he was going to swing since it was a slow motion with the other arm of the victim. He stated he allegedly struck the victim at least three times and then left the property. The defendant also had a mark on the left side of his neck area consistent with the collar of his shirt causing abrasion.
Doss Enterprises Safety contacted Pyles and advised that the victim was seeking medical treatment and had possible eye damage. All acts occurred in Tucker County.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
