The following criminal complaint has been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

William Henry Cole III, Buckhannon, was charged with one count obstructing/resisting an officer.  According to the complaint, on Sunday, Jan. 30 at approximately 7 p.m. Tucker County Sheriff’s office Corporal B.T. Zirk was contacted by Tucker County 911 in reference to a domestic dispute in Davis involving an intoxicated male.  Zirk received further directions and responded with TFC J.J. Schmidle of the West Virginia State Police.  When they arrived at the residence they were met on the porch by the suspect.  He advised the officers that they were not going inside the residence.  They told him that they needed to make contact with the 911 caller and to make sure everyone was alright.  Cole then stepped in front of the doorway and refused to let the officers into the residence.  They tried to reason with Cole and asked him to stand to the side so they could speak with the 911 caller.  He became aggressive and refused to follow the officer’s instructions.  They told him he was going to be detained for everyone’s safety.  He resisted instructions and pulled away from Zirk.  He was placed on the ground and taken into custody for obstruction.  Cole allegedly continued to resist and obstruct while the officers attempted to place him into Zirk’s patrol vehicle.  Cole was then transported to TVRJ without further incident.  All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
