The following criminal complaints have been filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

  • Krista Marie Heckler, of Hambleton, was charged with one count of Obstructing Officer and one count False statements to officer. According to the complaint on Saturday, Jan, 31m Corporal N.C. Gidley received a call from Tucker County 911 in reference to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred in the BFS parking lot in Parsons. The caller stated a vehicle operated by Grant Poling was spinning around the parking lot and had struck her parked vehicle. The caller also advised that the driver was possibly intoxicated.

    Gidley arrived at BFS and met the involved parties. They were identified as Grant Poling and Krista M. Heckler. Both were in the vehicle that caused the collision. The victim was parked at the time and outside the vehicle.

    Upon speaking with the officer, all parties stated that Heckler was operating the vehicle and Poling was the passenger. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was observed by Gidley, emanating from Poling’s person, as well as what appeared to be bloodshot and glassy eyes. Upon being questioned regarding alcohol or intoxicating substances, all parties denied the use of. While speaking with heckler and the victim no odor of alcohol was detected coming from their persons.

    The parties exchanged information and left the area. At this time Gidley was shown the CCTV footage of the incident. After the collision, it is observed that the male subject exiting the driver’s seat was Poling.

    Based upon the totality of the circumstances, it is believed that by all parties stating that Poling was not operating the vehicle, the observation of the odor of alcohol emanating from Poling, the blood shot and glassy eyes, and the CCTV footage; that all parties involved provided false statements to the officer and obstructed by hindering the investigation of a possible DUI-related crash.

  • Grant Wesley Poling, of Parsons, was charged with one count of Obstructing Officer and one count False statements to officer. According to the complaint on Saturday, Jan, 31m Corporal N.C.   • David Kuhn, of Morgantown, was charged with one count of Obtaining property in return for worthless check. The complaint states that on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 Trooper D.M. Tate received a 911 dispatch regarding an attempted fraud at Grant County Bank in Davis. Tate made contact with the witness who had interacted with Kuhn and stated that the accused had entered the bank and attempted to cash a check in the amount of $2,775.30. The check was purportedly issued by the Tucker County Solid Waste Authority. The witness advised she contacted the Waste Authority to verify the check and was informed that the check was not valid. Upon being advised of this, Kuhn left the premises.

    Tate obtained video evidence depicting Kuhn Entering Grant County Bank and attempting the cash the aforementioned check.

All the above-mentioned cases occurred in Tucker County and all parties are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.

  • Samuel Hyde, Dry Fork District, Quitclaim Deed – Interest in Unit E6 Loc Condo, Week 32 to Heather Coty and Nickoletta Starcher.

  • Land of Canaan Home Owners Association Inc., Dry Fork District, Interest in Unit C6 Week 3 Land of Canaan to Florin Blideran and Bogdan Feldrihan, $750,

  • Land of Canaan Home Owners Association Inc., Dry Fork District, Interest Unit A3 Week 40 Land of Canaan to Sarah Folk, $850.

  • Lonny L. Snow and Judith A. Snow, Dry Fork District, Interest Unit E6 Week 33 Land of Canaan to Land of Canaan Home Owners Association Inc., $100.

  • Lesley Ann Paiva, Terry W. Paiva/ AKA/Walter Terry Paiva, Dry Fork District, Quitclaim Deed – Interest Unit B5 Week 27 Land of Canaan to The Lesley and Terry Paiva Living Trust, Lesley Ann Paiva, Trustee and Walter Terry Paiva, Trustee.

  • Adam G. Huffman, Dry Fork District, 123.18 acres, 1.25 acres with right of way and water rights to Vicki J. Huffman.

  • John D. Wik and Beverly J. Wik, Dry Fork District, 1.11 acres or 48,075 square feet to John Warren Wik.

  • The Onva Company LLC, Dry Fork District, 12.1 acres to Christopher Keith Wade and Jamie Elizabeth Jacobs, $325,000.

  • Cassandra J. Loughry, Dry Fork District, Quit-Claim Deed, Lot 128 Mountainside Section, Timberline Sub-division to Timothy C. Loughry, Trustee, Cassandra J. Loughry, Trustee; Timothy C. Loughry and Cassandra J. Loughry Living Trust.

  • Karen E. Ovesney, Licking district, Lots 44 Landboc Recreational Area Life Estate Release to Roger L. Greaser, Jr. and Jodi L. Davis.

  • Joseph R. Shepherd, Sr., St. George District, Warranty Deed – 10 acres to Joseph R. shepherd, Sr. and Joseph R. Shepherd, Jr.
