Criminal Complaints

The following criminal complaints were filed in the Tucker County Magistrate office:

  • George Lee Keihl of Elkins was charged with False statement for medical assistance. According to the complaint, on Sunday, Feb. 2, Keihl approached Cpl. D.W. Burge and Trp. J.E. Kopec, of the Parsons Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, and asked them for a ride to Elkins. When the officers explained that they could not give him a ride, he allegedly stated that he was too tired to walk back to Elkins so he would call the emergency squad. The Tucker County EMS picked Keihl up at the Family Dollar Store and transported him to Davis Memorial Hospital where he allegedly refused treatment, signed a release form and left. The officers checked with Tucker County EMS and found that the transportation bill will be charged to the defendants WV medical card. Bond was set at $1,000.
  • Scott Wesley Moats of Parsons was charged with DUI First offense on Wednesday, Feb. 5. According to the criminal complaint at approximately 7:45 p.m. Dep. C.A. Teter of the Parsons Sheriff’s Department was called to assist Parsons Police Chief J.J. Jones with a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles on US219- Pennsylvania Ave. While Teter conducted his investigation, he noticed Moats’ eyes were blood shot and glassy and his speech was slurred. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emitting from his breath. Moats was asked if he had had any alcoholic beverages to drink and he allegedly stated that he had had a couple of beers at approximately 2:30 p.m. Field sobriety tests were administered and Moats failed at which time he was arrested and transported to the Parsons Police Department where he blew a .136% on the Intoximeter.
  • Clyde Earl Goldstein of Davis was charged with Driving Revoked for DUI on Saturday, Feb. 8. According to the criminal complaint, Cpl. D.W. Burge observed the defendant exiting the Davis Shop-N-Save parking lot and he did not stop at the stop sign. Upon initiating a traffic stop, Burge recognized Goldstein and contacted Tucker County 911 to request verification of the defendant’s driver history. Information came back that the defendant’s drivers license were revoked for DUI with effective dates of 2-27-13 and 1-22-13. Goldstein was arrested for Driving Revoked for DUI.
